Can Hormone Therapy Do More Harm than Good?

Recently, a Tulane University study found that androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) or what is commonly known as hormone therapy can do more harm than good for prostate cancer patients.

We are agreement with the researchers in this study. Here at Chicago Prostate Cancer Center, we thoroughly evaluate each patient to determine whether androgen deprivation therapy (commonly known as hormone therapy) is necessary.  We have collaborated with researchers at Harvard Medical School on this very topic.  Our studies have shown that hormone therapy is NOT without side effects and patients should be selected carefully.
